Desert Rainbow

My girl Jackie keeps things simple, but somehow still manages the casual grace of a silver screen starlet. She wore a flirty off the shoulder lace dress and her sleek a-line wedding gown during an intimate photo shoot at Dead Horse point a few days before wedding guests joined the couple in just outside of Moab, Utah.

More than just stylish though, Jackie is a smart cookie - just like you! She wanted extra time with friends & family on the wedding day so we booked her photographer, the king of golden hour David Newkirk, for the whole weekend, including a special cliff top couple’s session. This savvy schedule took SO much pressure of her wedding day & gave the couple multiple photos with their favorite people.

As outdoor enthusiasts was important to Jackie & her paramour Dea,n that their guests experience the beauty of Utah AND have a relaxing weekend. The cozy cabins at Whispering Oaks Ranch were the ideal spot for their family & friends to socialize, relax, and celebrate all within walking distance of the couple’s desert rainbow inspired wedding.

On their wedding day, that desert rainbow was at full strength! The bride carried a bouquet in shades of orange, yellow, & red that echoed the arresting vistas of the La Sal Mountains. Both Jackie & Dean wore turquoise & silver jewelry, materials so intimately tied to the landscape & native people who first inhabited it.

Their simple outdoor ceremony included a rustic arbor with a garland of bright blooms & rug that now lives in the entryway of their home. The couple’s beloved hounds served as flower-pups & sported vibrant collars of greenery & blooms.

To turn up the volume on their simple table settings, we layered classic ivory linens with soft sage & rich rattan chargers. Ask me sometime how much I adore colored linens & the heavy lifting on transforming your decor they can do! These cuties dared to be different with a seating chart made from recycled bicycle wheels . Hobbies as decor notes, I love it!

Getting way, way out there in the mountains has some serious perks (did you see that bear)! But my favorite just might be that couples can celebrate longer & louder than at traditional hotels & resorts. Maximizing party time for my couples while still investing time in treasured traditions - I’m totally here for that! Your good time is my good time… and I mean it because that’s me in the dinosaur outfit dancing with the groom!!

If you’re looking for a beautifully unhurried wedding day that’s a shocking amount of fun, we should chat!

Special thanks to the incredible team that made Jackie & Dean’s wedding possible.
