Mid Century Inspired Wedding

A mid-century modern styled wedding in Steven’s Point was the perfect opportunity to get creative, meet new wedding vendors & feature a new wedding venue in this charming small town!

As seen on Wisconsin Bride

An outstanding team of collaborators can make even the smallest celebrations feel luxurious. Each wedding vendor involved brought something extra special to this shoot from hand crafted rings by Brody Designs to sustainably grown flowers by Green’s Flower Farm. Even if you’re planning a wedding in a small Wisconsin town, there is a wealth of talent and creativity to help you plan a truly unique celebration.

Rather than recreating the style of atomic age, we wanted to embrace the bold color choices, geometric shapes, and architectural elements while giving the wedding a contemporary and urban feel. We wanted to capture the night club or cocktail bar vibe of the era, creating an elegant atmosphere where the couple could sip their drinks over the hum of jazz music filtering through soft hazy light.

The newly renovated Rose House in Stevens Point offered an ideal venue to bring together mid-century and modern wedding design. We incorporated unusual architectural features like a glass brick wall as the ceremony backdrop and exposed sandstone as a focal point for the celebration. These features were elevated by vintage furniture, industrial elements, and unusual shapes to create a fresh take on mid-century inspired weddings.

The color palette was thoughtfully chosen to put a bold spin on the ever popular “burgundy and blush” and to modernize the mustard and turquoise combinations seen in mid-century textiles and housewares. We worked with shades of blush, coral, rust and gold as our primary hues, adding in pops of ocean blue as accents.

We knew we wanted the bride’s hair and make-up to echo the sharp cat eye and volume of early 1960s beauty trends and the stunning gown with an architectural train provided by Circle the Date allowed us to incorporate those trends in a modern way.

Our mid-century inspired wedding wouldn’t be complete without a glamourous beverage menu curated by Copper and Pine. As a mobile bartending service, Copper and Pine adds a refined touch and interactive element to any celebration – watching their team mix beautiful cocktails is a true joy!

Special thanks to the talented team who brought this mid-century, cocktail party wedding to life!
